Active JW's - Does None of This Bother You?
by The Fall Guy inthanks to atlantis and his sources, we are able to examine material from the alleged "faithful slave" which is intended only for the eyes of the shepherds wolves in the congregation.. information needed for visit of circuit overseer .
all congregation accounts records covering the period since the last visit, which would include any bankbook being used and the records for any additional accounts being kept by the congregation.
(do you have excess money which should have been given to us?).

Is Russia "right" about presecuting Jehovah's Witnesses?
by iliketreasure injehovah's witnesses are presecuted in russia.
on par with the is and other terroristic groups.
it happened when the anti-extremism laws were extended to non-violent groups.. i don't believe that russia actually cares for the well-being of their citizens with this move and probably merely a law to stop other political forces (and the jws are one in a way, since their gather authority over large groups of people and also have their own political and judicial institutiona), but are they right about it anyway?.

Here's how I feel about this: If the Universal Sovereign sees fit to permit His Chosen People to be tested in this way, who am I to question it?
In fact, it may be WRONG for me to object. "Let Thy Will be done."
Case closed.

Interesting Find
by ZindagiNaMilegiDobaara inscandal in malta.
by paul j. bonanno and kent steinhaug.
it was, and still is, a fact well advertised by jehovah's witnesses (hereafter referred to as jw) that every member who works in their general headquarters (which is located in brooklyn, new york, america), and their other worldwide offices, receives only room, board and a few dollars per month.

It warms my heart to know that Kent Steinhaug is still takin' names and kickin' ass!
More power to you, Sir!

AtomAnt shouted from the rooftops, "... a 5.2 quake the strongest felt for over 3 decades."
Dude (or Dudette, or wotever), I live in Seattle, Washington, USA. You might fool flatlanders with exclamations about a 5.2 quake, but you and I both know that a 5.2 will wake you up or, if you are already awake, send you under a solid doorway, but a 5.2 is NOT ARMAGEDDON, regardless of how long you've waited for it.
Let me know the day before the next New Madrid, USA quake happens. THAT should be one for the books. The first New Madrid mega-quake was actually FOUR separate earthquakes. The first 7.5 (199.5 times more powerful than a 5.2) quake was followed by a 7.0 aftershock around 5 hours later. In January of the following year, there was a 7.3 earthquake then a 7.5 in February. That last one destroyed the town of New Madrid, Missouri.
As far as "religious experiences" go, your premonition is on the order of getting a "YOU MAY ALREADY HAVE WON" email from Publisher's Clearing House!

Thank you, Orphan Crow. That certainly was a difficult "experience" to read, and I'm sorry your family went through that. How many times through modern history, in how many tongues across the world, has a similar drama unfolded for good people who only wanted to live a good life, guided by nincompoop "men-of-God" of how many nincompoop denominations?
Hint: As far as I am concerned, they are ALL nincompoop denominations, ALL of them!
I knew Howard Zenke, a married Bethelite who was also the "Overseer" of the Sunnyside congregation in Queens, NY. Howard was one of the guys at Bethel who manned the "Service Desk." He was a good man who had served in the US Navy in WW2, and his wife suffered from what I believe is now classified an autoimmune disease. They were a handsome couple back in the 1950s and 60s. Howard was also capable of being a VERY "by the book" guy, which is entirely what one would expect. I know that Howard Zenke made a BIG ISSUE with the Watchtower brass over the failure of 1975. I left the NYC area abut then, and I don't know anything about how things went for them after that. According to Ancestry.com, both Howard and his wife are now dead. I can easily imagine Howard insisting that the elders who DF'd your Mom needed to re-do their work. It is really a pity that the local congregations are given autonomy they cannot handle like adults.

I'm curious... if I tell you I can run a mile in 3 minutes although I have never worked out, you'd think I had a screw loose.
Likewise, if you tell me you've been "saved," without having actually DIED, I'm inclined to think you are exaggerating just a little. Tell me after you know for sure.
As for my friend Tenacious sentiment that "we all must respect (emphasis mine) each other's decisions, I will paraphrase a Physician who said, "Respect? [As in] “Admire deeply..." Nope. Understand? Yep. Accept? You bet. Part of what makes America a great place is we all get to do whatever dumb ass activity... suits us. But it is impossible to respect a belief that" is irrational.
To each his own.

OrphanCrow told us, "I wasn't very old when I figured out that being baptized meant that you could get into deep shit if you screwed up and then that meant that you missed the Paradise train...However, being unbaptized meant that when I stopped going to meetings when I was 13/14, I became a target for any and all JWs that came into my world. By that time, my mom had been disfellowshipped and my dad was fading."
There is a sadness there, even though I'm happy for you that you were so wise at such a young age. Can I ask... what caused your Dad to fade? Why did your parents give up on the religion for which they once demonstrated such enthusiasm?

What Are Your Rights?
by Simon inrights seem to be everywhere nowadays.
say hello to someone in the wrong way and you've violated 101 of their human rights.
people imagine they have the right to all sorts of things - food, healthcare, housing, internet ... so many things are labelled basic rights and then you get onto their human rights - a favourite of the do-nothing bodies such as the un to declare.

Hybridous is right!
If people in general STINK, what makes a person who is a Socialist smell like a rose? ...and I'm not talking about perfume!
The list of Socialist leaders who were recognized for their humanitarianism is brief; non-existent. Shall we expect the acolytes to outshine the masters?
